Our Kanu: A Beautiful, Brand New, Custom Sail

Maui Canoe Club has the most beautiful new sail for our sailing canoe. It’s a custom 100 square feet of absolute sailing performance, enhanced by the elegance of the modified “crab-claw” scoop – a humble bow to the sail engineering mastery of the Hawaiian voyagers.

We took it out for a test drive today, and it performs / responds like a dream. North Sails, located in Honolulu, are the expert makers of this awesome sail.

The intrepid crew was: Cap’n Dave W., Marty, Ken, George, Stacy, and Jonny. Ke kai (the sea) and makani (the wind) certainly helped make this sail’s maiden voyage a very successful trip.
